About Turtleford

The Turtleford Credit Union Limited was officially open for business on June 6, 1972. 48 years later, (Dec 31, 2020) total assets are $90,854,046 with a membership base of 2112.

Turtleford Credit Union Limited is a member owned, community-based organization dedicated to the co-operative philosophy which provides a wide range of quality, personal, financial services to fulfill the needs of the members and the community.

Working closely with Board of Directors and a team of dedicated and professional employees at the Turtleford Credit Union, we have strived to maintain an autonomous Credit Union.  We provide quality customer service and banking services at a reasonable cost.

Ian Heggstrom – General Manager 

Ian was born and raised in Turtleford. After graduating from high school, Ian obtained his Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance and Marketing through the University of Saskatchewan. Ian then returned and began his career with the Turtleford Credit Union, starting as a Member Service Representative, then Loans Clerk, Loans Officer and lastly a Loans Manager prior to his new position as General Manager. Ian has long enjoyed working in, and with, the community that has been such a large part of his life, and he and his family look forward to many more years in Turtleford.

Holly Matias – Office Manager

Travel should be my middle name as this new Team member to Turtleford Credit Union comes from Marwayne, Alberta. I come to you with 22 years of experience in the Credit Union System.

Coming from Williams Lake and District Credit Union to Synergy Credit Union and
now to you. May the learnings along the way lead to great things for Turtleford. I
have been married for a long time to my husband who currently works at Home
Hardware in Lloydminster, and together we have 4 children who keep us busy
with activities galore. We are actively involved in non-profit organizations we
proudly support and work hard to ensure that community is as important as
family.

I have had the opportunity to work in many different areas of the Credit Union and feel that this interaction and learning will be key in working with members.

 
 
Kerry Domes – Accounting Administrative

Kerry began her career with the Turtleford Credit Union serving members as a Member Service Representative in 2006. Kerry always strives to meet the needs of the members. She moved to an administrative role within the Credit Union in April 2015. Although, she does miss the direct interaction with the members, she enjoys her position and continues to bring success to the office in this role. Kerry lives on an acreage with her family north of Turtleford and is proud to be from small town Saskatchewan. She is very active in the community and volunteers her time with various fundraisers and non-profit charities. Community is very important to her.


Shelly Tucker – Investment Relationship Officer

Shelly joined the Turtleford Credit Union in November 2021. She has over twelve years’ experience in the Credit Union and banking systems. She looks forward to continuing to meet the members of the community, and getting to know them better, while helping them with their financial needs.

 

Lending

Julie Brendle – Loans Manager

Julie started her career with Turtleford Credit Union in 2003 and has worked her way up to the position she currently enjoys as a Loans Manager. She now primarily administers commercial and agriculture lending as well as provides supervision to our lending team. Julie has built a level of trust and respect from members with her loan knowledge, dedication and attention to details. She works diligently to earn her member’s confidence and trust.When not in the office Julie enjoys spending time with her 3 children, their property at Brightsand Lake and Travelling.


Patricia Fink – Loans Officer

Patricia is the newest addition to the Turtleford Credit Union Team. With 35 years’ experience in lending, she has the knowledge and expertise to assist you with all agricultural, commercial and consumer lending requests. Patricia is from Paradise Hill with a background in agriculture making agricultural lending her specialty. She enjoys gardening and travel in her spare time and is delighted to join the Turtleford Credit Union and looks forward to meeting and getting to know members in the community! 


Denise Jalbert – Loans Officer

Whether it is purchasing a new car, requesting financing for a vacation package or consolidating debt, Denise is eager to assist you with your financial needs. Denise began her career with the Turtleford Credit Union in September, 2010 as a Loans Officer. Her priority is assisting members with Consumer Lending. Denise is also one of our two Notary’s in branch.

Melanie Locke – Loans Clerk

Melanie started her career with Turtleford Credit Union in September of 2017 and prior to this she specialized in Commercial and Agricultural lending with other Financial Institutions.  Being born and raised in Turtleford, Mel is familiar with the local area and surrounding communities.  Mel can help with you with your commercial, agricultural and/or consumer lending requests. She is confident that with her years of experience, she will strive to succeed in achieving your lending needs.

Member Service Representatives

Netanis (Tanis) Tarr – Senior Member Service Representative

Tanis started her career with the Turtleford Credit Union in February 2010 as a Member Service Representative. In her role as Member Service Representative, Tanis recognizes the need to assist members and potential members by identifying their financial requirements and offers solutions to make their financial lives easier. Tanis is very comfortable in assisting members with Memberdirect Banking, card services and other financial services.

 
Shelley Lavoie – Member Service Representative   
       
Shelley joined Turtleford Credit Union in September 2019, having just moved to the community with her husband.  She brings with her a wealth of ten years’ experience in the Credit Union system, and looks forward to meeting and getting to know the members here, and helping them with their financial needs. 

Shay Anderson – Member Service Representative

Shay joined the Turtleford Credit Union in May 2021. Shay has a background in Human Services and has extensive experience working with people in a professional manner. She can’t wait to get to know and provide service to the community members through working as Member Service Representative.
